For New Years Eve, we decided to go down to Diani to visit some friends and celebrate. We went to see Michael, Melissa, Joshua, Andrew & Elias Rains. We really enjoy getting together with them when we can because the boys are at the right ages to really have fun together and the adults can have some grown up conversations for a while. We went to the beach and played in the sand and ate lunch. Then we came back to their house and the kids played while Melissa and I went and did some shopping . . . FUN! After dinner we played some games and waited for midnight to come. When it finally got here, we had the "Dropping of the Papaya". Because of the 7 hour time difference we couldn't see the ball drop in NYC so we decided to get creative and have a ball dropping of our own. Michael stood on the couch and we counted down to midnight. At exactly midnight he dropped the papaya. Then, we heard the local hotels setting off fireworks outside so we ran out to see them. The next day we went swimming in the pool and had a nice lunch. We really had a great time and hope to do it again another year.
Let's see, what do I want for lunch . . . Ahhh! Sand!
Don't eat the sand Conner, I tried it! YUCK!
