Well, here we are, almost a month later, and we still haven't done anymore updates! Ethan and Conner are doing so well and both boys are growing like crazy. Ethan is becoming more and more like a little boy everyday and less and less like a baby. That of course, makes Mom and Dad really sad. He is so sweet and loves to play outside and ride his bike. He is talking more and more everyday and really is doing well at communicating what he wants. He and Daddy go to the park or go on walks while I'm at the hospital with Conner. They are really making the rounds and getting to know the neighborhoods here in Wisconsin.
Conner is doing great too. He is growing everyday and the doctors are amazed at his progress. He is now 3 lbs. 3.9oz. We were laughing at the .9 of an ounce because if he would have weighed 3 lbs. 4 oz, he would have doubled his weight since he was born about 4 1/2 weeks ago. BUT, he decided to hold out on us one more night. He wanted us to know who was in control so he decided to make us wait. He is doing so well and the rumor is that we might be able to take him home the last week of September. That is still very early compared to earlier thoughts, but he is just blowing through all the barriers so they think he will do well from now on. This next week will be the big week. He will start bottle feeding this week, and also hopefully get into an open crib. If he does well eating on his own, and is keeping his temperature in an open crib and growing all at the same time, that will let us know better when he will be able to go home. We are excited for this and are looking forward to having him home with us as a family.
Please continue to pray for our court hearing on September 14th. This will be the hearing that terminates the rights of both birth parents. Once this is done we can totally focus on Conner being a part of our family. Once that hearing is over, we can take him with us to Florida to finish the adoption. The birth father still has not signed the papers, but we are hoping to hear this week that he has done that. God has been so good to us up to this point, we know that he will provide for the rest of the process. Meanwhile we are enjoying our little miracle and thank God everyday for bringing him into our lives.
